October 12, 201113 yr Most of the older streets could have been mistaken for a city like Cleveland, the rest of the older avenues and the commercial shots could have been Cincinnati. People in Ohio don't even realize how much the Three C's resemble the Eastern Seaboard. Cincinnati all the way:
October 12, 201113 yr true you got a dominating bridge, there is a great mix and some of the housing styles resemble ohio styles, but then again others do not. for example, the new style of home with the garage underneath. the biggest difference to me outside of the waterfront, which isnt shown, is the unbroken density of bayonne. too many gaps in urban ohio, but none there. its a model of intact urbaness (if not urbanity lol!).
October 12, 201113 yr A very livable-looking city, with some great vintage buildings in addition to all the later residential construction. The station building is very attractive, and everything in your photos is tidy and well kept.
October 12, 201113 yr Very nice tour. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers

Cincinnati all the way: I'm still amazed your urban homes and apartments have separated garages , that is unheard of here.

My only problem with Bayonne is they allowed for strip mall construction on 440 , which killed there business strip. As for the Station , its a replica of the old Central Jersey Railroad Station that used to be in Bayonne.

If I wasn't afraid of heights i would have walked across the Bayonne Bridge , which gives a great view of the Urban part of this region. There are no breaks in the Urban fabric in the NJ Gold Coast. There are some sections that are denser then Manhattan or Tokyo.
October 12, 201113 yr Sad thing is if you ask anyone not in the know where these pics were taken the last place they would say is NJ. This place looks like a nice little town on steroids.
October 19, 201113 yr Nice! Brings back memories. I've stayed at that Ramada a couple of times when visiting NYC. There's a parking garage right next to it (only $9 or $10 a day!) and then it's 15 minutes to the Village on the PATH train. Not a bad way to go if you're traveling on the cheap.
October 19, 201113 yr Crap! Sorry...wrong thread. This was supposed to be in the Jersey City thread and I don't know how to delete a message I posted?!

(The Cardinal line is great for viewing fall foliage!)
