Here's some pictures over the years of East Garfield Park.  I also made it out to the long abandoned Original Sears Tower left over from when the massive complex behind it was demolished.  The tower is being renovated into a community center

It has always interested me that they retained the tower on the Sears complex. Glad to hear it will be put to use.

Stunning images.

Nice pics! What area is this btw? It looks much more interesting than the South Side and K-Town; the two areas I usually frequent when in Chicago. Some of the latter pics resemble areas of DC and Baltimore. Maybe I need to use you as a tour guide when in Chicago.

Totally looks like B-more.

It's actually not far from K-town just East of there.  As you move closer towards California you hit most of these buildings.  The consistency in rowhouse architecture is much more prevelant in East Garfield Park, particularly along Warren Ave.  You'll find similar architecture around Bronzeville, Grand Blvd, and Oakland but it's much more eroded due to population loss as well as teardown-rebuilds during the mid 2000's

Nice Neighborhood , is this a middle class neighborhood.

Great pics.

The politicial tactician in me cringes at the campaign signs on the boarded up buildings.  I'd scream at any of my people that did that.  Indeed, if the other side was playing dirty and I was tempted to retaliate, I would consider putting their signs in such spots....

Great stuff! An unusual concentration of row houses for Chicago. The tower views were stunning.
