November 7, 201113 yr If you want a nice, cheap hostel, check out Sweet Peas right there in downtown. We paid $70/night for a nice warm shower, shared breakfast and an upgraded bunk with a good sized locker. The regular bunk is something like $40, and there are private rooms available. Are those highway photos from Interstate 26 north of the city? I personally know the lead engineer for that project and he's a good friend of mine - was given so much access to that project while it was under construction and it's one of the more scenic interstate highways in the country.
November 7, 201113 yr Great photos. If/when I ever get chased out of Cincinnati by an angry torch-weilding mob, Asheville is on my short list of cities I'd consider moving to.
November 8, 201113 yr My favorite city in North Carolina. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
November 8, 201113 yr I was there in July (have friends and some family all throughout NC). Their downtown is small as hell, but very vibrant and well utilized. The natives we talked to were really cool also. I could definitely see myself living there. The only drawback IMO is the isolated feel of the area, which many people consider a plus.
