Turns out we had a forecast of Cleveland's first snow of the season - which usually means not a whole lot, but the lighting is always unpredictable:

 

 

 

 

So I had the day off, I decide to go to the art museum - parked at 9ish, museum didn't open until 10, so I walk over to grab coffee on Juniper. And then the heavens unleashed about a billion snow pellets. The good news is I got a free dermabrasion on my walk back to the museum  :|

 

Anyway, once in the museum everything was lovely:

 

 

 

 

 

 

After that, I headed over to Larchmere and Loganberry bookstore - love their new mural!

 

Well would ya look at that? What a great idea for a holiday gift!!!  :-D Actually I picked up a copy of 'Cleveland's Hidden History' by Christopher Busta-Peck - very much recommended!

 

After that I decided to head back downtown via Buckeye; St. Mary's Elizabeth of Hungary church on the left:

 

Yeah, things are pretty rough in the immediate vicinity:

 

 

And honestly for quite a stretch to the west toward downtown:

 

 

 

 

 

I headed back to the beaten path and stopped at Gallucci's for some prosecco, cheese, and pasta:

 

After Gallucci's, I headed downtown via Euclid:

 

 

 

Like I said, the lighting gets to be a little funky (sometimes good, sometimes not)

We had a snow flurry here, too, that day. Yesterday we had a hellacious thunderstorm around 3 p.m. that lasted until dark, and at one point I heard hailstones smacking the house. I haven't been outside to check for damage this morning, yet.

I love the Buckeye neighborhood for what it has the potential to be, particularly the area directly to the west of Shaker Square (i.e. where Lucy's is located). I think the area where Shaker and Buckeye converge has one of the best vantage points of downtown in the city (if you could photoshop out all the power lines). But the area has a long way to go, and a lot of neglected buildings, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of people that share my love for that area  :cry:
