Posted January 19, 200619 yr Several on this site do such a great job with the whole building shots, I thought I would try something different... DOORS! I have seen coffee table books such as "The Doors of (fill in the blank)" so that has motivated me to start a little thread on Over The Rhine doors. (grasscat, if this belongs in another area or whatever just lemme know) just some shots from a lunch time stroll. (thanks Ink.. for the tech tip) Prospect Hill near 12th & Elm near 12 & Elm Central Parkway Music Hall Near Elm St. Clinic Boys & Girls Club Shut that door near Findlay Market on Central Parkway Prospect Hill music hall this one isn't so much about doors, I just found this little row of houses, it looks like someone is starting a rehab, I hope they keep the colors
January 19, 200619 yr Hi, great pictures! The shots of doors in prospect hill were nice too!! :-D That last shot looks like the south side of magnolia st. A couple of those houses were for sale awhile back.
January 19, 200619 yr Yep - you probably have that right. I don't quite recall - I was moving thru there pretty fast. thx
January 19, 200619 yr Great as usual OTR! My favorite is either the one right under the Liberty Hill caption with all its bright colors or the second pic of the hospital. Keep up the good work!
January 19, 200619 yr That's my favorite too Ink. I actually found that on one of my "Cincy steps" outings, it faces onto one of the steps in Liberty Hill there. That hospital was a new find for me. I have walked by that building (nearly across the street from the homeless shelter) a few times, but never noticed the sign before. (hidden history!)
January 19, 200619 yr Oh, I noticed there are two Liberty Hill's, I mean the second, but the first is cool too. The one at 1632 is also pretty neat, except for the new glass doors.
January 19, 200619 yr yep - I also like those iron gates on the hospital door, they are intricate. I'm thinking they are original. (unlike the beer cans next to them!)
January 19, 200619 yr That's my favorite too Ink. I actually found that on one of my "Cincy steps" outings, it faces onto one of the steps in Liberty Hill there The first prospect hill door is located in corporation alley at the Hiram st steps. The house's neighborhood nickname is the Alley House. At night look up to the window above the door and see a glowing goose :-) I actually found that on one of my "Cincy steps" outings What # are you on? I tackle at least one every weekend.
January 19, 200619 yr I do love me some OTR... "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 19, 200619 yr I agree. I also love that little row of colorful houses on Magnolia. Damn! (grasscat, if this belongs in another area or whatever just lemme know) Right here is where this belongs!
January 21, 200619 yr Thank you Riverviewer and all  I am learning a little about my camera and OTR at the same time, it has been great. Here is another set of Over The Rhine "doors" - you will NEVER see these in West Chester! ;) Let's start with some new doors (well one new, one happy rehab) It kills me to know that there is such a great auditorium sitting in the dark just on the other side of these :( I HAVE to find out what this was. Watch that first step! old Hudepohl bottling plant (now NuBlend paint) stoned I LOVE this shot. This gentlemen just happened out of Tucker's Behind the Guildhaus on Vine (formerly a brewery building) something German looking should be in OTR at night, you can see Smitty's from space ;) this is on Vine, it looks like an old theatre front, but the building is too small, probably an old club/bar another "Tucker's" this one on 12th & Jackson
