December 9, 201113 yr You'd figure Zakk Wylde would be from the "Pretty Much Alabama" part, but he's actually from "Hipsters" territory. Hmmm, it probably wasn't hipster territory back when he was born.
December 9, 201113 yr Oh, and Snooki's hot. If you like them really tiny, especially between the ears.

The beaches are nice MTS!! Although they are so burdened with some pretty draconian state and local rules. Yep, in NJ they've managed to make the beach an awful pain for most people.

Umm...Sandy Hook...Nude beach...Draconian rules?
December 12, 201113 yr Umm...Sandy Hook...Nude beach...Draconian rules? Sandy Hook is not the norm. I have so many bad stories...but the beaches (however beautiful) are generally a police state. I'm not saying there shouldn't be any rules, but in NJ they take regulation way too far to the point that it becomes abusive. NJ is where the mere act of throwing a frisbee or simply having a cooler of FOOD with you could merit a steep fine. Perhaps that's the curse of density and popularity, because it wasn't always like that. Parking fees and beach entrance fees can cost a family a small fortune. Having to pay in order to set foot on the sand is immoral imho. Especially since these rules and fees are in place largely to keep economically disadvantaged types away from the "elite" ocean communities. I am fortunate that know how to get around most of these rules and avoid confrontation, but most people visiting who don't have as much experience there, do not. I can't help comparing my experiences in places like California (and virtually everywhere else) where public access to the water comes with 1,000 percent less hassle.
December 12, 201113 yr Oh, and Snooki's hot. Snooki...I am almost positive she is NOT from NJ. She's actually Chilean. I know this.

If they are municipal beaches paid for by municipal taxes, should they have the right to limit use to residents or charge non-residents an extra fee? Closer to home, Walton Hills does something like this. The village maintains a small lake that one has to be a resident or the guest of a resident to use. I pretty much guarantee they'd close it and fence it off (preventing an "attractive nuisance") if they were ordered to open it to the general public at an "affordable" cost.

E rocc those beaches are supported by both state and federal dollars via sand replenishment.
