I found listings for Legendary Icons at Beachwood Place and Tuttle Crossing in Columbus as well.

His old store that sold the same items was called legendary icons in beachwood but had disputes with other people over the name so when he moved to TC he named his kiosk Luxury Band Tees then when he got the storefront switched it back to the original name. I also believe he had the same type of store in Columbus as well but he told me he closed it because he was starting to expand to fast and couldn't handle things all at once so he started all over at TC. He told me he likes TC better though because of the location, close proximity to music venues and cheaper rent. I know all of this because I know him personally and we discuss this daily.

Cool, thanks for the insider info.  Sounds like a great addition.

No problem and yeah I think it will be especially if you are a fan of music, the prices are good to

Is this the same business that was a kiosk in TC by the American Greetings store - there several months? I notice this week it's gone. I did see the t-shirt store yesterday but assumed it was the same store that sold shirts at that location, with something making it look different. Where were they a Beachwood Place?

How does all this Dan Gilbert news gel with the "13 new Beachwood Place-type" businesses rumored to be coming to TC? I don't know much about merchant leasing but could it be the month-to-month leases are only until it can be determined what the Dan Gilbert group wants, and then those remaining can work out a much longer-term lease with his office? I'd expect Brooks Brothers, for example, to be quite safe as it is exactly the type of well established and clearly upscale business he should want there.

Yes that's the store

I wonder (speculation) if Rock/Gilbert is looking at purchasing the whole mall.

They already bought the hotel, and Phase II is planned to

have retail.  If it does, it would be a wierd set up to have two "malls" ran by different companies under one roof.

What do you mean by "two companies?"  :? It looks quite definite that Gilbert's company is taking over the current Avenues of Tower City. Then Phase II commercial would be run by the same company!

Has there been anything official about Rock purchasing the mall?  Is there any "need" for Rock to purchase the mall?

^If you look up thread the only "confirmation" is an unknown sales girl who works at Brooks Brothers and was chatting with a FC exec who was shopping in the store.  Is that firm enough for you? :-D

From such "leaks" great journalistic exposés are made.  :speech:

The rumor was wrong. The truth will be announced any day. :speech:

Nothing will be official until Gilbert tweets it

So he's not buying it?

Not at this time.

Not at this time.

Is their anything happening? What truth will be revealed?

The truth? There is no Tower City

Sounds like some awesome place in a science fiction film, doesn't it?

^^I vaguely remember that spoon bending shot.  Which movie is it from?

One of the Matrix movies.

Well all these rumors are just falling apart

I wouldn't put too much cotton into what the Manhattan guy said to me. He wasn't so accurate in what he said about the trousers I was interest in....  Funny how that leather store sign simply disappeared. :wink2:

Im not so concerned as to what is closing etc, I just wish there was some formal information released as to what is happening if there truly is something changing at Tower City!!!

Yeah I look for it everyday when I walk past it but can't find it. I'm starting to doubt it's opening but it wouldn't even make sense because they just had a leather store that failed. My question is what's the deal with the empty storefront by either things remembered or payless, that awning was there for years but they all of a sudden take it down now, it seems weird to me. Also I meant to mention that I saw some people inside that large empty space by the gourmet popper about a week back I wonder what that means if anything....

What about the Oracle of Brooks Brothers?

What about the Oracle of Brooks Brothers?

Yes they have been sooooooo dependable

Hold on to your pants you two. I said in my original post 60 days, it hasn't been anywhere close that yet.

If it happens, great - If it falls through, so be it. I am willing to bet that whether Gilbert ends up buying the mall or not, there will still plenty of changes on the horizon.

Thanks Mayday!!

No One finds it weird/suspicious that they finally took that awning down from the store across from the Cookie Store after having it up all these years?

Not really.  It was not attractive and detracting from what was there.  I'm sure they did it to clean up the look on the outside so a prospective tenant doesn't have to see it and have more of a reason to decline.

Could be I was hoping a tenant already signed on an didn't want that up there

So far we've gotten no concrete information of one decent new shop coming to TC, even though the Casino has been open several months.  The music t-shirt shop is okay but it doesn't count because it was already a kiosk and it's just "so-so" anyway, as far as the image of the mall is concerned.

I see now a store named "Glitter" is coming downstairs but I'm quite positive a store with just that title had been in the mall fairly recently.

What a fabulous addition.  Go Forest City.

I'll put this in here until Mods open up General Tower City again:

"Bizdom, a nonprofit program created by Cleveland Cavaliers majority owner Dan Gilbert to mentor and help finance aspiring entrepreneurs in the urban cores of Detroit and Cleveland, has established its Cleveland headquarters at 250 W. Huron Road downtown. Bizdom will occupy 7,000 square feet inside the five-story office building that is directly below The Ritz-Carlton Hotel."

Sooo there really has been no new TC news in 2 months? I find that to be amazing

Why, before the Horseshoe opened there hadn't been any news about Tower City since it was announced the new casino would be attached to Tower city? Other than stores leaving of course.

Why do people only remember the stores that left and not those that arrived? On that score, more stores would have left Tower City than there are leasable spaces at Tower City!

This really doesn't have anything much to do with development but I don't know where else to ask this question. So I was just wondering what happened to all those nice hanging things with the animals that use to move, hot air balloon etc, that they use to hang up from the ceiling at tower city a few years back? I haven't seen them in a couple years, with out those it doesn't feel as much Christmas-ey as it use to and I don't feel its as worth going to tower city around Christmas now that they don't hang those up anymore. That's just me though. Thanks!

Really, they aren't up this year?  They have been hanging those every year since tower city opened.

I could be wrong but I think they have been gone for a few years.

Those "flying machines" were not up at least by last year. I figured they were expensive to run and probably, after being up ever since 1990, they were no longer in good working condition or were getting shabby.

An individual around last summer was convinced those two "schlock" clothing stores - Dario and Manhattan - would be closing soon.  I asked why, as I hadn't seen any definite signs.  Anyway, they're still going and I don't see any reason they will no continue on.  They really are not what I was hoping for in TC and I doubt if they are attracting the Casino people much. And the latest one isn't much of help to the TC image, either.  Nor the leather shop reincarnated.  Wonder what happened to the idea there would be new outlets stores of the Aurora Premium Outlets type.  Nary a single one, so far.
