#26, 2/4/2004!

Oh, wow, I'm on the 18th page!

I'm on the 40th page at #1988.  That was April 2008, so it looks like our growth rate is still quite strong!

Im surprised that we have so many inactive members. I looked at that list, and we have 3,294 members who have never made one single post. And another 794 who have 5 posts or less(not including 0).

So thats...

3,294 members who have 0 posts.

4,088 members who have 5 posts or less.

449 members have 50 posts or more.

345 members have 100 posts or more.

146 members have 500 posts or more.

88 members have 1,000 posts or more.

43 members have 2,000 posts or more.

13 members have 5,000 posts or more.

3 members have 10,000 posts or more.

1 member has 15,000 posts or more. ;)

Which group best fits you?

Im in the 2000+ group!

#23.. Coming up on 8 years. 1/22

I have one of the higher posts per day counts, though I'm a late-comer.

Yes, I am ashamed. (Of my ppd, not my late registration.)

Clevelumbus has less than a quarter the number of posts I have, yet has been a member on the site about 4 times as long!

Well I know I'm the 1%  HA!!!!

I think we should kick off inactive members or lurkers after a certain amount of time.

Why?

Why?

What value are they adding?  I know there are lots of "lurkers", but it is strange for a site like UO to have such a large number or inactive or "zero" members.  I bet if you turned the forum into a revenue generating site like the NYTimes where after X number of views you're locked out, activity would increase and so would revenue.

Well I know I'm the 1%  HA!!!!

With 5000 members, you're in the .0002%.

Congratulations!

Activity is measured by more than the number of posts you make.

Personally, I don't post nearly as much as I read.  I refrain from posting things that I don't really feel add value (like the random posting of a graphic trumpting your own existence).  I have also learned that there's a limit to communicating in print vs in person, or even on the phone.  Messages are often miscontrued or people tend to focus on bits and pieces of posts, rather than the whole thing.  So sometimes I think "not worth the effort".

Anyway...approaching 1,000 posts!

Sorry, I'm not going to punish people because they don't post and they want to simply read.  It is their choice if they want to participate.

#12 thats pretty cool, wish I could post more.  Maybe when I am out of the Army I can be more involved.

So...when do we start planning the 10-year party, and where will it be held?

I don't know when we'll plan it but it's certainly going to be held in the Anchor Grill in Covington.

MTS further proving that sometimes "value added" and "number of posts" are inversely proportionate.

Seriously...y'all should have a 10 year party.  We are getting close!  Or maybe just a 5000 member party.  We can invite the 5000th member as the mystery guest.

LOL!  They have yet to post!
