It was a great experience, and I was lucky to have great weather and a blue sky, especially in January! Didn't have the best camera and had some trouble with glare, so sorry I dont have the best pictures, and it doesn't do justice to what I saw in person. But still, better than nothing! Also visited Grays Armory. No pictures though :( ...
January 10, 201213 yr I'm insanely jealous :-P but GREAT set, thanks for sharing with us! Every time I'm in the lobby I just WISH I could get in the elevator and go to the top ... Who do you have to know to get up there??? lol
January 10, 201213 yr As always, Cleveland's looking good from all directions. I always love these birds-eye view photos, nicely done and thanks for sharing!
January 10, 201213 yr You are definitely "winning" and I'm am officially jealous. Nice set. https://www.instagram.com/cle_and_beyond/https://www.instagram.com/jbkaufer/
January 10, 201213 yr I love the shots up Euclid Ave towards the Clinic/U Circle with all those buildings rising out of Uptown. That's definitely a view that has changed since my last trip to the top of the Terminal dating back to pre-911!
January 10, 201213 yr great views. I assume these were taken from a private location, that there's no public observation deck there. If not, why not? This is the tallest building in Cleveland, right? http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
January 10, 201213 yr Thanks so much! I shot some pics from up there in 2000 -- all in black and white. I had to get the OK from KeyBank's media relations manager, who I knew because I was a staff writer for Sun Newspapers back then. But I went up there to take pics for a book that was never published. The thing that really surprised me was looking down on Terminal Tower. I knew that I would be able to do that, but it was just strange to actually do it. Thanks again. January 10, 201213 yr Nice. Those are Key Bank offices up there, or JVJ? It's an executive dining and lounge area. And it's actually worth some photos all by itself because, at least when I was up there, it was a two-story club with a wide staircase that was open to the floor above, with a piano and lots of fancy, modern decorations. It would be an amazing place for a fundraiser, wedding reception, etc. and very expensive too, I might add! Can you share those B&W Pics KJP? If I can find them. But I think I know where they are. They're almost becoming historical now, almost 12 years later! "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
January 10, 201213 yr Great shots! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 10, 201213 yr Thanks everyone! Hopefully by summer i'll have more pictures of Cleveland from up high to share! ;)
January 10, 201213 yr It's amazing to get to see those views, isn't it? What floor were you on? Trust me, if you're able to finaggle it and your contacts there can make it happen, get up to the base of the crown - you'll likely have to sign a waiver, and it's unnerving to be up that high but it's SO worth it. Anyway, I didn't think the glares/reflections were too bad but sometimes, if you put the camera lense carefully flush against the glass, that will help. E Rocc, I know that 57 (the uppermost office floor) is now home to a law firm - for the longest time it was unfinished, but Jacobs never had offices in Key Tower. "great views. It was never designed nor intended to have a public observation deck. Sorry for the late response. Yes, in person its a great experience. You can see much more than what the pictures show. And the building offers great views from all directions. I was on the 49th floor. This summer I hope to add to my collection and experiences and get to the top of 200 PS and Erieview tower. Erieview could have a much different view. And thanks for the camera advise! In my opinion Key Tower has way better views than the Terminal Tower. What were your favorite views?
January 14, 201213 yr "Erieview could have a much different view." Oh yeah, and it's a good one! :-)http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,15215.msg253974.html#msg253974 clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
January 14, 201213 yr ^Thanks, I was looking to see if you had a photo thread of it. I definitely look forward to and hope I will get up there either this spring or summer!
