February 3, 201213 yr Love this set. Everyone is so happy! well, not quite everybody. this little boy almost burst into tears as I took his picture. I swear he was smiling just seconds before! I was afraid his father was going to turn around. As a matter of fact, all these kids probably went home and later told their parents that "Some creepy old man took my picture at the parade today but I was too scared to say anything at the time." http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
February 8, 201213 yr very nice. did you get to the giants ticker tape parade yesterday, too? so you know when they dance up and down the chinatown sidestreets and do a blessing in front of each strorefront? i heard from a cop that is also a veiled threat for the owners to pay up their protection money. thats chinese business so who really knows, but it sure looks like it could be taken that way from the way they do it. yikes!

No, I didn't make the Giants parade. Chinatown was enough of a crush. Literally, when an elderly woman using a walker (the kind with wheels) parted the crowd and I felt them pressing against my spine in order to make room. I wanted to yell "couldn't you have at least waited until the parade was over, lady?!" If you ever go down there though, a large new food market called New York Mart opened on Mott St (well, large by Chinatown standards) just north of Canal. Good variety of stuff. http://www.mainstreetpainesville.org/
