Posted January 22, 200619 yr Just some miscellaneous pix taken in Over The Rhine major rehab around Hamer St. loading drywall across Jackson St. from the Art Academy no matter what... only in cincy.. I thought selling this in OTR was illegal? we'll leave OTR this week with two panoramics.. I appreciate UrbanOhio
January 22, 200619 yr And UrbanOhio appreciates you. Great shots! "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
January 22, 200619 yr The ballet pigs are great. And the new ballet building is such an improvement on the dumpy-ass one they used to be in...
January 22, 200619 yr Great shots! You do a great job of showing the character of the place (in your other threads, too). What's the deal with that "sandwich" sign? Why would the H have been moved?
January 22, 200619 yr Much love for the OTR and your pics. Such a gritty but great hood in the heart of the city. btw, maybe you should put back that B you took from the sign. I understand the police are thinking about raiding the place.
January 25, 200619 yr such a beautiful day - lots of color in Over The Rhine today! and two panos from the most colorful 'hood in Cincinnati...
January 25, 200619 yr Nice!! I am really interested in the areas of OTR that are way off the beaten path and you found some great shots! Have you travelled up to mohawk , Renner and stonewall area off of mcmicken? There are some sweet scenes up there!
January 26, 200619 yr nice. i like the last pano, lots of nice house shapes and the first real grit i've seen -- i hope those three are getting renovated instead of condemed?
February 5, 200619 yr I have tramped around Mohawk and Brighton area some, but without the camera. Cool old breweries up there too. I'm not sure what they are doing with those buildings with the rebuilt frame. That material is just a mesh on 2x4 lumber. It certainly wouldn't stop the weather. It has some sort of roofing material tacked to it though. I don't know much about restorations, not sure what they are trying to accomplish with that.
February 9, 200619 yr That's high praise coming from you montecarloss. Thanks. Nice to have a "support group" for my little addiction. More to come for sure. BTW, what's the prize for "new forumer of the year"? here's just a few shots from the last week or so, some around the old breweries, others on Elm near Findlay Market this breaks my heart.... c'mon folks, drink more beer ;) I think this is on Republic, near Findlay Market these are some spectacular rehabs near Main uhhhh.. I think this means 'stay out' - On Elm St. On Elm Today's OTR pano..
February 10, 200619 yr Wow, well done OTR! This brings me back to the days in college when I lived on Ohio Ave and used to walk down to Bellevue Park and then through the woods and down the steps to OTR. I always remarked on how it was a great neighborhood to explore on foot and I would imagine what it used to be like and think of the potential that it still has today. Fantastic!
February 10, 200619 yr GREAT!!! I really like that entrance labled "exchange," do you think something is missing from those circles?
February 10, 200619 yr Great thread OTRFAN. With regard to the Metal Blast building: There were some preliminary plans to turn it into a mixed-use condo and restaurant complex. There hasn't been any news about the project recently. It would be a really amazing sight when renovated.
February 11, 200619 yr Ink - here's a close-up of those circles.. Those are beer barrels and everything around it has something to do with the brewing process. another detail shot from the same brewery some of the new Art Academy! and from OTR... Do you know it?? Today's panos.... Let's go.. OTR!
February 11, 200619 yr Nothing more urban than the bottom of your two panos.....by the way great work on all of those panos.
