Posted February 28, 201213 yr Do you think cities would benefit from their own typefaces? http://overtherhine.wordpress.com/2012/02/28/could-cincinnati-benefit-from-its-own-typeface/
February 28, 201213 yr Interesting idea. I can see that font fitting for Cincinnati (or maybe New York). Cleveland's got dibs on Comic Sans. ;)
February 28, 201213 yr My friend posted this on facebook. I joked we should not only have our own font (http://bleedingcowboy.tumblr.com/), but our own way of spelling Cincinatti in our own font- http://bleedingcowboy.tumblr.com/post/2818229652/sensible-beer-label-design-not-so-sensible
February 29, 201213 yr More generally, cities can benefit from branding and that includes typefaces. Cincinnati already has an established typeface, as demonstrated in the article. We also have references to the Queen City in Queen City Metro, Queen City Tour, Queen City Sausage, etc. The Flying Pig is catching on, especially in sports. We have the riverboat theme established around the riverfront. The mosaics in the baseball stadium mimic those in Union Terminal. The Cincinnati Bengals derive from the Bengal Tigers at the Cincinnati Zoo.
February 29, 201213 yr Queen City Metro is no more. Queen City Tour really doesn't exist anymore. Queen City Sausage? Really?
February 29, 201213 yr Cleveland's got dibs on Comic Sans. Oh no it doesn't! http://www.bancomicsans.com clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram

Also, the Reds have their own typeface...though not as steeped in history. Cleveland's got dibs on Comic Sans. ;) HAHAHA - poor Cleveland
