So many of those historic buildings look abandoned.  Not good!

Most are just underutilized. A few are owned by the Vandalia Heritage Foundation that hopes to restore them into lofts and higher-end apartments, considering the city's location to the FBI CJIS center and the "High Tech" corridor that includes the DOD, Boeing, etc. There is a lot of wealth in the area, but it just doesn't show.
