I visited Chicago for the first time ever from February 20 to the 24th. After a couple of nights in

Detroit, took the Wolverine Amtrak train from Detroit to Chicago, arrived in Chicago at 11:30 am Central time. First part of the Monday was spent exploring the

amazing city before I got to my hotel room @ the Allerton Hotel on the Magnificent Mile.

Without further ado, here's the first part of my first day in Chicago!

Nice way to be greeted in Chicago, looking up at the Willis Tower (though locals today still say Sears Tower), tallest building in the United States (for now)...

Strangers" for a fictional newspaper called "The Chicago Chronicle". I believe it was also where they went in and out of revolving doors in the opening credits.

Hope you all enjoyed Day 1, Part One of my Chicago Trip, Part Two of day one coming soon!

Excellent!

Jay, my man.  Great shots!

Nice!  The weather looks sunny and nice.  Can't go wrong with the Hancock observatory.

I happen to work in the perfect Strangers building lol...officially called the London Accident Guarantee Building.  It's a beautiful and the upstairs was restored and renovated into classy modern office space in the early and mid 2000's.  The ornate lobby is a tourist attraction and a great photo destination.  The top floor has a cool basketball court.

Unfortunately, the building is closing down the end of this year.  When I started it was near 100% occupancy.  When tenants tried to renew 10 year leases they were denied.  Leases have now been voided and most of us have started moving out.  I only have a view more months in this building to take in the beautiful views.  I will miss my window seat and watching the bridges go up
