Careful.  ATHX has raised and dashed hopes more than once since going public.

It's just a small play of 90 shares. I'm not too worried if I lose it.

I won't hold you responsible....lol

Cleveland Clinic spinoff Athersys, whose stock had been putting along around $1.20 down a bit lately, shot up earlier today to $1.93 and then backed off to $1.40 - up 17%  Maybe, at last, the FDA has approved a product for them to sell.

Edit:  Reason for the bump: It is speculated that the coronavirus will spur the approval of Athersys's ARDS treatment.  ARDS is the terminal stage of the coronavirus-caused pneumonia. Some Wall Street sage has prediicted $6 for the stock.

This tip is looking great.  I bought 90 shares at 1.37 and it's trading at 1.73 today. I'm up 25% in 10 days.

I should have posted this here, not in the Cleveland general business thread. BTW, I bought more than 10,000 shares. Thanks for the tip @Dougal !!!

ATHX just recently hired a marketing director and a new chief operating officer. It sounds as if they believe they will be selling *something* soon..

I bought in 10 days ago but when it dropped and then rose again, I sold it and made a small amount of money. I sold it because I wasn't confident that ATHX had what it took to break out of this decade-long funk it's been in. But that Seeking Alpha article changed my mind and I immediately got back in. Now, for every penny in stock value that ATHX gains, I gain about $200. Their treatment sounds very promising, that it can save every life if the treatment is available.

Cleveland loses biotech startup to Beachwood...

Why can’t the city of Cleveland be offering these incentives? How do they keep the suburbs from poaching?

A dated office building in a suburban office park, not within walking distance of a single restaurant or thing to do... Sounds exactly like the type of place young talent will be excited to work.

Didn't you hear? Beachwood has highway interchanges, that's what is important here in NEO

Sounds like the Clinic area, to be honest.

Biotech startup moving HQ to Cleveland
By Ken Prendergast / May 16, 2024

A partnership with the Cleveland Clinic has prompted a four-year-old biotech startup to relocate its headquarters to Cleveland from Durham, NC, one of the points of the Research Triangle. However, Lamassu Pharma, LLC, has yet to identify the location of its offices. The small firm hopefully will one day grow into a force for positive change in the pharmaceutical industry.
