This was the first PG movie I saw in the theater. And this is still one of my favorite scenes from any movie.....

And of course this was a memorable scene for me....

Silver Streak Finale

"In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

1986 New Wave Hookers (XXX - NSFW (language))

This is the 2nd scene after the 2 principals nod off in front of the TV

This was back when porn actually had writers & actors

I know it's a movie many of us have probably seen dozens of times, but this one just made my blood run cold. The bittersweet act of a kiss, the love, and knowing that his fate was sealed, it just astounded me.

Shit. Don't know how to embed it right. How do you embed?

Here's the link:

ah, it worked!

Silver Streak is a family fave. I've seen it at least a dozen times. All you have to do is call up a member of my family and go, "THIS IS TERRIFIC!" and they will start laughing.

When Michael J Fox and the party crasher villain were driving/fighting in the police car in The Hard Way. The car flips over something in slo mo and the characters are yelling 'drop the gun', 'drop the car!', 'drop the gun!!!" And so on. The movie and that scene especially are just gems.

The hotel scene in Borat

The news team fight in Anchorman

The collapsing stairs scene in The Money Pitt

Every frame of The Burbs

"What kind of name is 'Poon' anyway?

"Comanche Indian"

^^Ah, Tom Hanks when he used to be funny. I miss those days.

For me it is pretty much the whole Big Lebowski movie. Or Raising Arizona.

I love the scene when Hal is stealing the diaper set to the yodeling. God, Nicholas Cage used to be funny too. Now I am depressed....

Oh, and when Martin Sheen has his breakdown in front of the mirror in Apocalypse Now. That was off the hook.

pretty much every day shit around here.....

Any such list would be incomplete without this gem

NSFW

100% agree. We have actually taught our toddler to say "Coffee is for closers."

The cruising scene from Meredith Lucas' 1988 epic - Blood Orgy of the Leather Girls

The scene from the show Battlestar Galactica is ok - but the ad following is perfect

Oh God.  I love this type of thread.  I have so many favorites.....

Here are just a few

Especially for KJP

HAIRSPRAY (1988) PIMPLE SCENE

Damn, I haven't heard of most of these movies, let alone know the scenes in them. I have seen Mommy Dearest, but only once and that was right after it came out.

OK, here's a few more of mine. Here's a great one from 1988, yet ballplayers are still rolling out those same cliches. Perhaps they also met a Crash Davis in their travels through the minor leagues.....

(WARNING -- DO NOT PLAY AT WORK! A FEW F-BOMBS IN THIS)

Continuing the theme of minor-league sports, this is one of my favorite movies -- period. And these are two of my favorite scenes.

More F-bombs. Dave's a killer! --Dave's a mess.

"I'm listening to the f-cking song!!!"

These are movie quotes by James Earl Jones dubbed over Star Wars movie scenes featuring Darth Vader. And these work great because you don't have to sync the quotes to mouth movements since you can't see Vader's mouth. Hilarious!

You know I love Darth Vadar!  I've always wanted to have DV's powers.

1962 Lonely Are the Brave

On glorious black & white film

After this movie, everybody who jumped into the Clifton Gorge (Yellow Springs/Clifton) had to yell, "oooohhhh shiiiiit!".

Not that anyone jumped in by the rapids

twice

More of my favorites

Taxi Driver Scene

This is a good one because Glinda and the WW of the West both have Classic lines.  Glinda's delivery was fierce!

The most repeated "quote" LOL

Kinda ironic, in light of what's going on in the world today.

When you hear the Tocatta and Fogue in D Minor at the beginning, you know that you're in for some dystopian doom with Rollerball:

It's iconic enough that they even used it for the '80s kid's game Crossfire:

MTS, you double-posted in your last post. I think it's also slowed down the loading of this thread.

I loved crossfire.  That looks so outdated to me and I am only 23.  I am getting old I guess.

Ah yes, Crossfire.  That commercial is from around 1989.  In college there was a whole group of people who start singing that hair metal jingle at parties.  But this was well before youtube appeared so nobody could quite remember what the lyrics were to the song, so people just made stuff up.

"There's no basement at The Alamo!"

This scene is so amazing because Pee-Wee is the smarter character throughout the scene, sharing the position of the viewer, until the very last moment, when the whole thing is turned back around on him.  The exclamation point is the kid taking his photo!

Cap'n Spaulding in action (NSFW - Language)

whaddya mean - you don;t like clowns?

Ahahaha, somebody sent me this (as an MPEG) at least 5 years ago:

1960

Spartacus

still gets me tingly.....

Just in time for baseball season...

Two of my faves! I still think the James Earl Jones "People will come, Ray" speech in Field of Dreams is one of the best advertisements for baseball ever created by anyone, anywhere, anytime.

The ending to Camp Sleepaway. Holy $hit!

  • 2 weeks later...

That's exactly what it's like, AJ lol.

Oh, hey, have you seen Hangover 2?

Inspiration for (former Saints Def Cordinator) Greg Williams, I'm sure....
