Hey all,

This is my first time posting to Urban Ohio, though I've been reading the boards for a few months. I'm from Cleveland but currently attending the University of Cincinnati, and I love both cities dearly (like everyone else here!). I recently got a new camera, a Canon ELPH 300HS point-and-shoot. Nothing too fancy, but I've been playing around with it a bit recently to see what it can do. It does a good job for a point-and-shoot, I'd say. Anyway, on to some photos:

What a lovely city.

When viewed from above, Over the Rhine really looks like an old-world European city.

I was not expecting a fireworks show, but it was the night of the Reds home opener, and I was treated to a nice surprise.

At any rate, it let me play around with my shutter speeds, something that my other ancient point-and-shoot was incapable of.

Unfortunately, a lot of the shots came out a bit blurry, because I had accidentally turned off the two-second delay that allowed the camera to steady itself after I pushed the shutter.

Awesome shots, man.

Welcome to the club!

Say what? A CLEVELANDER posting pictures of Cincinnati?! (simply unheard of)  Hey, BigDipper 80, obviously just having a little fun and also enjoying some decent pictures of the city.  I'm glad you took the time to post them; that ELPH 300HS really served its purpose! And pu-leeeze--no apologies necessary on those night shots--they all looked great.  All I ask is that sometime soon you get back up to your hometown and fire away with that little camera of yours!

Thanks! Love the Mt. Adams pics.

Oh, and welcome to UO! :)

Great pictures! Way to start off with a bang! (Pun intended) :-)

Great shots!

Welcome to the forums; I look forward to seeing more of your photos. You have an eye for interesting scenes and good compositions.

Any chance you can do some spell checking on the title of the topic?

Me-ow!

Great work, keep 'em coming!
