August 26, 200420 yr One of the funniest signs I've ever seen was in Zanesville, circa 2000. Some guy had opened an hearing aid shop and he used a Pepsi sign to say he sold hearing aids! Several years later I went through Zanesville and the hearing aid sellsman either got wise and changed the sign, or wasn't wise and went out of business (because the Pepsi sign was gone)
August 27, 200420 yr Cutting through Z-ville on the interstate it looks smallish..but the town is actually not too small..but strung out north-south in that valley. Also, sort of different as the interstate cuts right through town rather than bypassing it. (nice pix, too...esp of that big chuch just east of downtown). A real nice drive is following the Muskingum River from Zanesville to Marietta....late fall...overnight in Marietta. I did that after 9-11. Nice trip. Nice history. Also explored Parkersburg a bit.
October 5, 200519 yr This building will be coming down sometime in the next 2 months and a 36 unit apartment complex will be built in it's place. I heard that it will be somewhere around 7 stories with the first floor being commercial. This was at one time a department store. The developers have said that the building is in too bad of shape to use.
