*** i hope you enjoyed a pleasant late afternoon trip to the asian side of istanbul ***

nice tour, thanks. What's the fancy/trendy neighborhood there? I read something about it a while ago. I think it's near the water also. Maybe the "West Village of Istanbul?" I like the mannequins sawed in half and decapitated. I have to admit I've never seen a store display quite like that here! (or is that what happens to shoplifters?)

Shame on you, mrnyc, for presenting this particular mega-city to us here in Ohio.  I realize that where YOU reside, Istanbul may not seem like all that, but where we live it DOES seem like all that!  Whadda ya' expect us Ohioans to do now? (say, cram the "3-Cs" all together, along with both Lake Erie and the Ohio River, to compete with a showplace like that?) Nothing we can do can possibly ease our pain after seeing these photos--so I guess we're all just gonna have to live with the sobering facts--Istanbul is absolutely magnificent and gorgeous.  (Thanks!)

Awesome.
