  • Figured it was a good time to get back to things that make me happy, like photography.

  • How's this for a great photo? Love that density! Love the canyon effect! Love those cranes!

  • I really like this tweet photo by Joey Cassel.  The height-of-eye is just right to provide a comprehensive perspective.  Most photos shot from the west are taken from a height that makes downtown look

I see your 2004 skyline photo and I'll do two years earlier. On Feb. 14, 2002 I was at my doctor's office on the 15th floor of Lakewood Center North. I planned ahead and brought my Pentax K-1000 with the zoom lens along and snapped these photos. I remember posting these pretty early on in the life of UrbanOhio, and remembered that people liked them. So I thought I'd bring them back for another showing here on Throwback Thursday. And yes, my doctor was a little surprised I brought my camera bag along during my check-up. ?

Views from my Residence Inn hotel room window.  Some interesting views not normally seen by us locals:

Found one of a view we've seen- but in black and white it looks better ?

I've always loved this view. The density of our skyline coming across the Shoreway is very impressive.

^Now only if we could get the Parking Lot District filled in- that angle would be that much more awesome.

Okay, now play that video but with this song going:

They were probably hosted on a different site that either no longer exists, or were deleted by the person/website they were hosted on.

Thanks for sharing one of my favorite songs from late-fall of 1985! My first year of college! Such great memories!

Happy 2019 Mayday!  May there be just as many, if not more cranes in Cleveland that we saw in 2018!

Man, that Cleveland Hotel garage/ballroom really needs to go and W 3rd restored between Prospect and Superior.

I guess "amazing" is subjective, lol. Makes me wonder what the views are like on the quieter side of the hotel...

The Westin in DT Cleveland really has some amazing views. First time I stayed there I had a great view of the Terminal Tower and BP Building, and another time I had a lake view.

Ya, only bad view at the Westin is outside looking back at it ?

That would be cool--a modern tower addition emulating their design.  To me that would be the smartest thing Sherwin Williams can do.

Hey, if Republicans can misrepresent our parades I suppose Democrats can misrepresent our skyline.  ?

Maybe this video will make the skyline size appear larger. I'd love to see a version of this without the letterboxing overlay....

Thinking of you, @edale , and other non-believers as my wife, son and I walked about 500 feet down Random Road in Little Italy. So I took photos of the scenery in that short stretch, especially trying to include license plates. BTW, CWRU was empty because they are on spring break this week so the number of out-of-state plates was less than usual....

We used to joke about the name of that street at Case because the phrase the clique I hung with for awhile used for the general public was "random people".

She was actually irked with our son who had a bad evening last night. We didn't stay long in Little Italy....

Flashbacks to my childhood -

*Mom scolds me*

*I listen for 15 minutes then back to my nefarious dealings*

*Mom scolds me again*

*I don't listen*

*Mom turns and gives Dad that exact look*

*I know my reign as usurper king is coming to an end.

Ardyn is the second stubbornest person I have ever met.  It can be tough to rein her in and she knows this.
