  • Figured it was a good time to get back to things that make me happy, like photography.

  • How's this for a great photo? Love that density! Love the canyon effect! Love those cranes!

  • I really like this tweet photo by Joey Cassel.  The height-of-eye is just right to provide a comprehensive perspective.  Most photos shot from the west are taken from a height that makes downtown look

This house is about a mile away from me on my street, Clifton Boulevard in Cleveland. It always has amazing Halloween decorations. This year they've outdone themselves.

I liked the one last year with the little kid skeletons and the playground....truly creepy!

When is the last time I-71 turned a profit?

Hey @MuRrAy HiLL - you might enjoy this picture of Turning Point and CWRU's Lewis Building.  Taken last December.

The view of the big three from Huron.  I look forward to a forth joining them next year. (I suppose 2022 is more realistic.)  Fingers crossed that this view is permanently blocked someday soon and that a light rail downtown loop is immediately behind me before I retire.

Awesome @Boomerang_Brian !  I like this location much better.   Pretty neat to have these two architects' work side-by-side.

University Circle, in general, boasts quite an impressive list of architects.

EDIT: Side note, I never knew Philip Johnson (architect of Turning Point) and Marcel Breuer had such a close connection.  From Johnson's wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Johnson

When the rise of the Nazis in Germany forced the modernists Marcel Breuer and Mies van der Rohe to leave Germany, Johnson helped arrange for them to come to work in the United States.

^wow!  Unique perspective (and more obvious opportunity for continued infill urban development)

Also another unique perspective.  Here are two of a winners from the CWRU 2020 photo contest:

Thankfully that view is going to change soon. But man, that's bad. I saved it for future use. Thanks @Pugu!

^Yeah, it was so noteworthy I had to share. I know we all know the parking lots are horrible, but that view....a picture speaks a thousand words as they say....

Was helping someone find a vrbo rental in Cleveland tonight and just came across this horrendous shot---check out the third photo, which the owner spins as "Enjoy city views from the unit!":

Eek...why would they use that “stretch” lens on that “view”? I know real estate agents use those types of pics to mislead folks that rooms etc are bigger than they are...that parking lot shot will limit interest.

anyway at least some of that tundra will be gone...someday.

Nice cool spring day, caught this near Boaz Cafe on Lorain ten min ago.
