Address may signal Taft's loss of power

BY HOWARD WILKINSON | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER

When Ohio Gov. Bob Taft stands before the Ohio General Assembly today to deliver his final State of the State address, there may be few people in his audience who will have less to do with the future direction of the state than he will.

Let's improve the value of a high school education.  Wow.... once again, reaching for the low-hanging fruit.  Of course.... who doesn't want to imporve education?  But where's the bold vision on this and other issues?  Nowhere.  This is so typical of this adminsitration and the current General Assembly (who thumbed their noses at the Ohio Suprme Court on education funding).

Bland ideas from the poster child for dull.

^ I couldn't agree with you more, noozer.

Gov. Bob Taft threw political caution to the wind last week in his State of the State message and came out foursquare in support of better education.

Political insiders say that Taft, emboldened by praise for his courageous stand, might soon endorse godliness, cleanliness, motherhood and Scouting.

LOL

Taft is the master at grabbing the "low-hanging fruit" for issues.
