Posted May 19, 201213 yr I went on a tour of the innerbelt construction here in Cleveland on May 9th. The pictures don't do it justice, all taken from my camera phone. The tours are open to the public and free although you have to register in advance. Perhaps UO members could schedule a tour together ! http://www.dot.state.oh.us/projects/ClevelandUrbanCoreProjects/Innerbelt/InnerbeltBridge/NewsInformation/Pages/Project-Tours.aspx The quality isn't really good, I haven't had time to enhance any of them.
May 19, 201213 yr Forgive my ignorance but what will the finished product look like? "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
May 20, 201213 yr ^ Wow, those pics are small. Can't see jack ish. Is this part of an interstate? I don't know what the innerbelt is.
May 20, 201213 yr Thanks for the pics. BTW, the steel bridge with the movable section at one end is Norfolk Southern's Lake Division which runs from Bellevue, OH to Buffalo, NY and passes locally through Lorain, Avon, Lakewood, University Circle, Euclid, etc. This bridge sees about 20 freight trains daily, the equivalent of 6000-8000 trucks. ^ Wow, those pics are small. Can't see jack ish. Is this part of an interstate? I don't know what the innerbelt is. This is Interstate 90, and just west of the bridge is where I-71 starts/ends. Here's a couple of bigger pics.... May 20, 201213 yr ^ Thanks. Is there any multimodal element? No, but I believe the Hope Memorial (that bridge in the background) pedestrian and bicycle improvements are the result of the compromise on that.
May 21, 201213 yr ^ Wow, those pics are small. Can't see jack ish. Is this part of an interstate? I don't know what the innerbelt is. The Innerbelt is the Inner belt of the Cleveland freeway system. It starts at Dead man's curve and ends at the I-90/I71/OH-176 Split. This is where I-90, I/71 and I-77 all meet in downtown Cleveland, so yes its part of the Interstate System.
