Posted January 25, 200619 yr Old mill in park coming down / Dilapidated building has become hazard By Bob DowningBeacon Journal staff writer Work is set to begin in March to remove an old factory, in disrepair and a threat, in the Cuyahoga Valley. It will take about three months to remove what's left of the Jaite paper mill, on the east bank of the Cuyahoga River south of West Highland Road in Sagamore Hills Township, said Bill Carroll, deputy superintendent of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. January 26, 200619 yr That's actually kind of a shame. That old mill is nice and creepy, and a historic reminder of 20th century industrialization in the NEO. I remember riding or walking by it as a kid... you couldn't help but poke around (which I'm sure is exactly why they want to tear it down -- to keep kids out!). Too bad they couldn't have turned it into a museum of some kind.

Hikers walking the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, through what is now part of Sagamore Hills Township, near the Brecksville border, still can catch a glimpse of the secluded mill, built in 1905.
