June 15, 201213 yr I hope something good happens with that park. It's connected to the very good Mill Creek park system, which I've visited many times over the decades -- including an especially fun cruise in the 1980s in my uncle's red Cadillac Deville convertible! My cousin, brother and I ended up at the north end of the park and drove through some tough neighborhoods when there were still lots of people in them. The reactions we got were priceless! I have fond memories of Idora Park's The Wildcat from 1979 when I was 12. It was a famous ride among kids far away. When I lived in Geauga County and told my friends I rode The Wildcat, I became a minor celebrity! The coaster wasn't tall, or long or even very fast, but it was very rough and it sometimes ran on angled track when it didn't need to, so you got worried about falling out or the train going off the tracks. And that's what made an old rollercoaster fun -- the creation of fear for your life even though there probably wasn't anything to be afraid of. June 15, 201213 yr Cool video! the location is a great spot for youngstown--a relatively strong neighborhood, quality buildings, right next to lanternman's mill...could definitely be a good connection to metroparks.

June 21, 201212 yr that is WAY prettier than i thought it was going to be...however, there is something about this beautiful, youngstown icon being shipped to new york like a museum. Its very Elgin Marbles of New York http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elgin_Marbles
