Edgewater is in the far north side of Chicago just south of Rogers Park, one of the northernmost Chicago neighborhoods bordering the urban burb of Evanston (population over 74,00: 9,500 residents per sq mi). I didn't have time to check out Clark St, the commercial street on the west side of the neighborhood, so the focus here is on Broadway which is the main strip on the east side.

The red line station was just around the corner from the hostel: more Loop at the end of the thread. After about a half hour on the L I arrived and passed by the dining spot I was looking for by a handful of blocks: I believe it's just right of the DD.

Devon Ave straddles the border of Edgewater (south) and Rogers Park (north).

This is a great bar: a dark dive with a diverse mix socioeconomically and that also applies for sexual orientations. No tap, bottles only ($2 PBR and $3.75 pint cans of Guinness) and an excellent jukebox: definitely recommend it to any SSP locals.

Finally, a sign of life after dark in The Loop.

OOh, another sign of life: with beer. It was no Sovereign, but with $5 per bottle of 8-9% ABV microbrews it was alright in my book.

Fine taste in beer!  :-)

Looks like a nice neighborhood, but I just can't get into Chicago.

This must not be a very lively city because I don't see any surface parking. Something should be done about that....

Seriously tho, another nice set of pics, thanks for posting!
