I have some family visiting me in Cincinnati this weekend. Two adults plus two kids aged 14 and 8. The only thing they have planned for sure is a Kings Island day on Monday. Because of the relative age difference in their kids, I am struggling to think of cool things for them to do and also restaurants to take them to. I'd love to take them out to Gateway/Vine St. places but I kind of feel like those places are not especially kid friendly. Just wanted to get some opinions here.

They will be in town Saturday AM thru Tuesday. Thanks guys!

Lager House, butterfly show if it's still going on, sign museum, omnimax if something good is playing, maybe one of the heritage tours depending on how patient the 8 year old is.

Plot out an urban hike using some of the city steps if it is not too hot. Mount Adams is good for that, but there are other options, too.

Things to do, assuming money is no object:

Zoo

Newport Aquarium

Museum Center (could do any of the museums, really--the 8 year old would probably love the Children's Museum, but the Natural History museum has stuff for younger kids too)

Reds game (they will be back in town starting Monday, the 30th)

Cincinnati Fire Museum (kid-friendly)

Carew Tower observation deck (depending on where they are from--if from somewhere like NYC or Chicago, this would hold less appeal)

Findlay Market (a good outing for everyone, lots of fun stuff to see)

If the 14 year old has any interest in trains as a hobby or whatever, I think that Entertrainment Junction in West Chester is really good

Food is a lot tougher.  I find Rock Bottom is a reasonable spot downtown--sort of a Friday's menu that kids can get with.  Pompilio's might be a decent idea, and if nothing else Tom and Chee (esp. if you go to the Aquarium) would be an option at the Levee.
