The more of these that open, the less their projections will come true.

The area is insane. You can literally see the prison barbed wire fence as you pull in or out of the place.

Do they have a shuttle bus that constantly circulates seniors from the old folks "campus" around the corner to and from it?

What a piece of junk.  Sorry.

Does anyone else find it ironic that all of these projects are covered by Dayton media, but all of the projects themselves do everything they can to associate with Cincinnati?  "Cin City Sea and Steak"?

I guess it's just following the lead of Cincinnati Premium Outlets.

I don't know...to me "Miami Valley Gaming" at least somewhat implies a Dayton association. I know it is a river but Miami Valley is the informal name often used for the Dayton region.

That is true. Especially with this type of highly regionalized industry, they have to be careful to have both Dayton and Cincinnati influences.

That's why I was really surprised when the outlet mall was dubbed the "Cincinnati Premium Outlets" and included a fugly replica of Union Terminal as a focal point. No Dayton (or even Butler/Warren) reference there whatsoever. But I guess it's not cutting into sales, so I doubt it will make Simon care much about regional identity in the future

I don't think many people are going to pay any attention to that. I have lived in the area for almost 40 years now, drive past the prison frequently, and literally pay no attention to it.

My problerm with the Racino and Racetrack is that they are building too many of them. There is one being built in the Dayton area right? Again they moved a racing license from somewhere else in the state?

There is only so much gambling money to go around. These racinos will kill each other along with the actual casinos. The first thing which will happen is the restaurants will begin to close due to lask of patrons. In a few years they will begin to look like Tr-County Mall - desolate.

Yeah it's way too saturated. Same thing with malls. At this point I don't think Ohio knows what the right mix is  for slow growing metro's.
