August 17, 201212 yr Basically, we have replaced private industries that produced good paying jobs with government entities or taxpayer-fueled entities that pay less.
August 17, 201212 yr ^yeah, I caught that, too. healthcare, schools.... also bear in mind IH/Navistar didn't employ nearly as many people in 1990 as 1950 & even fewer now. Add in that the hospitals have closed & merged into 1 entity & more jobs are gone. And Wittenberg ain't all that big. The student population is about the same as a large high school.
