Have any of the Cincy posters been to this?  I am going down to Cincy tomorrow mainly to get some spices and stuff @ Findlay, and to get some coffee.  Im thinking of visiting this since the concept of a "curated flea market" sounds ...well....different (I usually associated curators with art museums).

So was wondering if its worth the side trip.  Apparently this is on Washington Park, so within walking distance of Findlay Market, but I dont want to waste time, so would appreciate a recommendation.

It's pretty good, though my impression is that it's a fair amount of crafty girly stuff.  But I've only been once.  I understand there will be a whole passel of food trucks on site, so that could be a draw on its own.

Last time they had a pair of DJs spinning actual vinyl records (remember those?), and they were amazing.

It's worth the trip for sure. Lots of local vendors...food, clothes, furniture, antiques, etc etc. Findlay and the park are less than a 10 min walk from each other. If the weather is as good as it's supposed to be, I'd imagine it will be quite crowded tomorrow.

I recommend that you check it out.

If you are already at Findlay Market then it is definitely worth the trip. Good people watching, interesting stuff for sale.

How was it?

So how was it ... were the vendors better than the ones up at Traders World & Treasure Aisles? A few months ago I made it up to Monroe to check out the Flea Markets up there and was extremely disappointed that I wasted my time and gas. Didn't buy anything and what I was interested in was several multiples of what it could be had for on internet auction sites.

I've been to City Flea twice and really enjoy the mix of vendors.  Basically: if you like the semi-annual Crafty Supermarket arts&crafts sale, then you'll like City Flea.  If you don't care for antiques, modernist design, and/or hipster aesthetics, City Flea might not have what you're looking for - but it's a neat place to at least window shop and people watch, and you can experience how much better the local food truck scene is now.

Sorry for the belated reply...it was just "ok".  I liked those Sunday craft fairs on Main better, though this had more vendors and food trucks (which is apparently a hot national foody trend that Cincy is also playing in).  For some reason this didn't click with me....I might be getting over this hipster lifestyle consumption thing.

The highlight was actually scoping out the "new" Washington Park, which is really sweet and also kid-oriented with that playground and water fountain.

If memory serves, the couple who started City Flea lived in NYC prior to coming to Cincy, and I'm pretty sure they mentioned the Brooklyn Flea as an inspiration in an interview at some point.

In my opinion it's more 'arts and crafts' than 'flea' but still worth visiting and fun.
