October 8, 201212 yr A mock ad campaign designed for a contest in England They won. (If this should have gone in Mass Transit I apologize.) Nope, this is a good place for it. But cross-posting isn't always a bad thing, either! :) And, yes, that's an awesome ad campaign, even it isn't real. October 8, 201212 yr It’s a clever, quite cynical critique of society, and I like it. Everyone can agree suicide is a problem, but how many people get pissed when trains shutdown for 2 hours at rush hour.
October 9, 201212 yr Suicide is an unacceptable alternative to personal problems. Do society a favor and don't die. Get help. We don't want you to die, because you will inconvenience the rest of us, and you just might have a better life.
October 9, 201212 yr It’s a clever, quite cynical critique of society, and I like it. Everyone can agree suicide is a problem, but how many people get pissed when trains shutdown for 2 hours at rush hour. Its not clever. As someone who wanted to commit suicide it's offensive. I work with kids, especially gay, that want to commit suicide. I dont think any those kids would find this "clever". What trains are shut down for 2 hours at rush? Yes there may be delays and reroutes but making a joke out of someone contemplating taking their life is cruel and tasteless.
October 9, 201212 yr It's making fun of the shallow people who get peeved at people in the worst time of their life for being a minor annoyance. Putting it into the context of a message from the mayor adds another layer of social stuff.
