Posted October 24, 201212 yr Let's see... where to find a good spot in the city to take photos of fall color in the morning... of course, Lake View Cemetery! Okay, I may have taken photos of things other than leaves and trees  I'll add captions later. From the Garfield Monument balcony. One day, I'd like to take shots from here right at sunrise but I had to make do with 9:05am: The monument volunteer raising the flag: Back down to ground level: The local tradition is to leave a coin on Rockefeller's headstone for financial luck - looks like a lot of people are hoping for that :-) One of my favorite memorials in Lake View, the Charles Brush burial site: The Garfield Monument from ground level: Tippy-top of the Garfield Monument - never realized they had gargoyles at the very top! Wade Chapel - exterior is Greek Revival, designed by Hubbell and Benes who designed other Cleveland landmarks (West Side Market and Cleveland Museum of Art); interior is one of the few remaining interiors designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his studio: Adjacent to Wade Chapel: The crypt on the left is that of Levi Schofield, architect who designed the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, and the Schofield Building on the southwestern corner of East 9th and Euclid: Cleveland doesn't have many Egyptian Revival examples, but there are a few here and there: This dam is no longer in use: One of the smaller but most iconic memorials in Lake View Cemetery, the Haserot Angel: What's a thread about autumn/fall in Cleveland without a woolybear? :-) Hope you enjoyed! clevelandskyscrapers.com Cleveland Skyscrapers on Instagram
October 24, 201212 yr Awesome photos! I was going to ask where the picture of the damn dam was, but you got it in one of the last photos!
October 24, 201212 yr Wow, totally stunning! I somehow forgot just how gorgeous that window is in Wade Chapel.

October 25, 201212 yr Beautiful photos. The city looks great with the blazing colors of the autumn, and the cemetery memorials are amazing.
October 25, 201212 yr Man I really need to get out there and explore the memorials. Great pictures! https://www.instagram.com/cle_and_beyond/https://www.instagram.com/jbkaufer/
October 25, 201212 yr This made my morning. Thank you. Really wonderful photos. The Harkness tombstone reminds me of the Harkness family who were Standard Oil tycoons - the family name is best known in some circles for the contribution of the Harkness table teaching method.
October 25, 201212 yr Beautiful! Hopefully there will be some color left over for this weekend; although I will only be in town for less than 48 hrs.
October 25, 201212 yr Beautiful! Hopefully there will be some color left over for this weekend; although I will only be in town for less than 48 hrs. There's still color along the lakeshore. Too bad you're not here now though, it's sunny and 76 degrees. Won't be like that this weekend.... Great photos!! Lots of great, regal art in that cemetery. I had no idea there was a dam in there! I have yet to venture into Lakeside Cemetery. But what's up with this guy? Was he or his sculptor a stutterer? http://www.clevelandskyscrapers.com/cle102112/cle102112_8.jpg "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
