Tonight I felt like taking a late night walk around the neighborhood and got some pics.  I didn't have a tripod so I did the best I could to hold still.

Ah, Gold Coast.

God I love Chicago.

Pretty darn good for no tripod!

That Starbucks went up fast.

Good stuff!

No picture of the Prada window?  :? :?  Really?  It's right across from Hermes!  I cannot believe someone like you is allowed to live in such a nice neighborhood!  UGH!  It obvious the approval committee was asleep at the wheel when it came to your application!  This is the beginning of the end for this neighborhood!  SMDH!

Awesome night shots!

The one next to the Prada?  Is that a new build?  It has a really cool retro streamline Art Moderne thing going on.

LOLOLOLOL!!!!!  I imagine businesses shaking their heads.  Why don't "those people" just get back inside!!!  Forbid we ever all come out at once when Barney's does a warehouse sale.  I'd tell Prada not to forget that their building was once a greasy hamburger joint.  Actually Prada was in the middle of updating their window display.

As for the starbucks, it's a complete new build and opening this weekend.  The original one a block down will be closed and converted to retail.

Awesome pictures as usual, NorthAndre! Impressive you never had a tripod and they came out so good! All the lights probably helped a bit. You're so lucky to be living in an incredible neighborhood like this! The pics make me so desperately want to return to the Windy City, and I will.... next summer. :) Thanks!

I agree and when you people do need to venture outside, going forward, please use the service entrance/exit.

I do use the service exit.  Admittedly I can't remember the last time I used the front door.  But when I do, I will most certainly make my presence known.

Great shots!  I just went to the grand opening party of the Esquire (Del Frisco's).  That place is enormous, somebody spent a ton of money on that space...it's really over the top.  It's hard to even imagine the old theatre space that was in there.  They had so much staff greeting you and servers trying to give you hors d'ourves it was kind of annoying.  I don't think I have seen any restaurant in Chicago that large.

It is massive, but beautifully done.  And I love the Esquire Marquee letters as you walk in through the entrance.  Interestingly, the sloping floors of the theater are still there.  They just built up the floors to be level

It is beautifully done....the glass enclosed 3 story wine cellar going up the middle with the spiral staircase is incredible!  I love that they kept the marquee...and that is interesting about the floor, because I was trying to look at the structure and figure out how they leveled the floor without gutting the place....and I couldn't see any signs of the old sloping floor.  It was pretty crowded and pushy though, so I didn't have a lot of time to really take a close look.
