-Located in Athens county

-Population just over five thousand

-most important to the city are the anti-Toledo signs that are still all over town:

I went in for a look, as big highway 33 will soon bypass the city and it could be interesting to watch the results.

Nelsonville really is a gem.

Great photos--a nice town indeed.

Impressive downtown, with lots of substantial-looking brick buildings that appear to be in good condition and largely still in use. Nelsonville is part of my ancestral stomping grounds; my brother has visited there and spent some time looking around, and I need to follow up and see what I can find.

thats where i had my first sonic lol! it might have been the 1st sonic in ohio not sure.

they used to have lots of good antique stores too. neat town.

oh and i think its where former tv actress sarah jessica parker is from. if you saw any horsefaced natives they might be relatives. yeah i went there ha.

Yeah she's from there.  You've got to question any area that is lorded over by a political family called Pancake.  Even the exchange students at OU knew Jim Pancake was a hilarious name.
