December 7, 201212 yr Wow. Cleveland-Pittsburgh have almost completely connected. Part of the Steel city Megalopolis.
December 7, 201212 yr That is awesome. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
December 7, 201212 yr Lots of conurbations in/near Ohio, not just Cleveland-Youngstown-Pittsburgh. Cincinnati-Dayton have become a single blob of light. So have Cleveland-Akron-Canton. And Detroit-Toledo is, too. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
December 7, 201212 yr Fascinating. For old school colonization, see the Nile River in Egypt (keep in mind that turns into the Delta toward the north). For more..... ummmm.... modern colonization, see the I-85 corridor between Raleigh and Atlanta. The Cleveland/Akron/Canton/Youngtown/Pittsburgh/Charleston cluster is indeed interesting. Columbus looks a bit lonely. Too bad we didn't capitalize on the opportunity for the 1/71 corridor to potentially connect
December 7, 201212 yr Western Australia kinda stands out. I think this same equipment was used to make the "fire" maps that made the rounds earlier in the year. Maybe that is what they're picking up out there.
December 8, 201212 yr What surprises me is how little of the planet is developed. Those 6 billion to 7 billion people are squeezed into some pretty small, habitable spaces. December 8, 201212 yr I wonder what that large blob of light in western North Dakota and/or eastern Montana is? It's as big as Chicago....
