Posted January 5, 201312 yr I've been trying to find a mapping site to make my own demographics maps, but haven't had much luck. Does anyone know of a good site for something like this?
January 5, 201312 yr what are you trying to map? and what are you trying to export it as? policymap.com search OnTheMaps from local employment dynamics the new york times has a good census 2010 mapping function http://projects.nytimes.com/census/2010/map you can use the census to map stuff--but it doesn't work very well
January 5, 201312 yr I don't know about websites. I know there are some open source or community mapping sites, but not sure how easy it is to load census data. You could try a free GIS program, e.g. Quantum GIS: http://www.qgis.org/en/about-qgis.html You could buy a license for Telestrian: http://www.telestrian.com/ Telestrian was created by an UrbanOhio member, arenn.

January 5, 201312 yr natininja's right---a lot of local communities have online mapping programs (like cbus for instance) through their planning departments. You can try that for the city ur looking for, usually they let u export it as a pdf or jpeg
