All Major Radar Detector Companies based out of Cincinnati Metro - Coinsedance?

Very interesting that the Top 3 radar detector manufacturers are based out of Cincinnati.  Yet many people probably don't even know that.  These companies get so little press in the local media.

The guy who invented the radar detector lives in Cincinnati. Incidentally, I also believe he invented the radar gun.

If the media did cover it, all the credit would go to West Chester Township, so I'd rather they not.

Monte everyone knows about the radars. Cincinnati microwave used to be located at Fields Ertle where the Home Depot is now.

But it is kind of a sleezy device, so maybe we should give the credit to WCT.

inkaelin, stop rambling.

Anyway, does anyone have any good stories related to use any of these companies products?  I have been leaning on getting a Escort 8500.  I had one in High School and loved it but it broke.

This is an interesting site discussing all three:

I have heard that the Valentine is worth the money.  Are Escort and Beltronics the same company, just different names.  Seems weird how both are located right next to each other.

^Sister companies?

I know, I'm rambling...

Valentine used to work at Cincinnati Microwave. but desided to open his own firm. My friend used to work at the place.

Yeah, I think we're also the playing card capitol.

A friend of mine used to work for Cincinnati Microwave and I think he said that Escort was part of Cincinnati Microwave until they filed for bankruptcy
