This past September I had to pick a site for a project in my Urban Design class and chose to look at the Clifton and West 117th St. area, mainly because I live in the area and wanted to get better acquainted with my new neighborhood. The following are just some of the pictures I took while studying the area.

These two are a bit further from the above, but I used them to help inform my design proposal.

Nice pics of my 'hood of more than 16 years. Thanks! They're already historical, as one photo shows buildings no longer there (http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/andrew0816/A%20Walk%20About/DSC_0047_zps78b2c42d.jpg) while another photo shows a vacant lot about to gain a building (a GFS store http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d61/andrew0816/A%20Walk%20About/DSC_0105_zps22e92719.jpg).

These folks are the nicest dry cleaners ever!

What was your design proposal?

KJP, you people, will let anyone into Lakewood.  You people, need to screen better.    Our little andrew0816 isn't bad, but some of the other forumers who've listed Lakewood as home are questionable.

Cool.

Such a great area!  One pet peeve, pedestrians should not have to push a button to get a walk signal...get rid of em!

Boy I hope that church survives...knowing the track record of some of the latest demolitions I don't hold out much hope though.

Anyone with an extra $1.5 million on this board?
