@hts121, I gotta say from your pictures, Cedar-Fairmount looks like a beautiful area. It's seems to be an upper class area, no? Many of those homes are beautiful.

Cleveland Heights is extremely diverse in just about every aspect - racially, religiously and economically - except politics as it is unabashedly liberal.  The Fairmount Historic District is upper class..... Cedar-Fairmount is more mixed.  I gave you shots of the historic district because Cedar-Fairmount flows right into it and it is a great area to ride a bike.... lots of side streets with beautiful scenery.  You will find rentals in Cedar-Fairmount, not the historic district.  Most of the rentals you might be interested in will be in Coventry, Overlook or Cedar-Fairmount, which are all within close proximity of the Clinic.  Have you given any thought to a house.  With your price range, I'd bet you could rent a decent house in the Cedar-Lee neighborhood.  Some new apartments are going to be built there next year, but won't be done in time for you (too bad).  The one thing CH lacks is "new".... which isn't a bad thing IMO.

BTW, coming from Chicago, you would be surprised how relatively affordable those houses in the historic district can be.
