Posted February 13, 201312 yr Hello - I currently live in Lakewood by Lakewood Park so I really enjoy running and I'm wondering if it's safe to run around Battery Park by yourself? Are there ever any break ins? Also, is it mostly young professionals or are there families? And last do all places have a roof top patio? If not, which ones do? Thanks so much! I'm interested in Battery Park because I like the little community, the townhomes look so nice and it's close to work!
February 13, 201312 yr Battery Park is pretty sweet. I like taking the Staten Island Ferry once in a while, when the weather's nice. I suggest getting a building with a doorman if you're worried about break-ins, but I don't think there's much crime at all until you get north of the financial district and into LES/Chinatown.
February 13, 201312 yr Aliciap41 I live in Battery Park, so does "gottaplan". Im going to send you a personal message on here and introduce myself. Alot of great stuff to talk about.

February 14, 201312 yr I live in 'Micro Italy', (w67th )a couple blocks to the east of BP and I think the immediate neighborhood is very safe. I've been here for three years and overall haven't had any serious issues. Bums and drifters used to walk(stumble) through the neighborhood occasionally but that was mostly just on Detroit Ave and has all but ceased with the Downtown Cleveland Alliance and CPD always in the area. From a male perspective, perfectly safe to jog and otherwise be out and about. Of course, as with anywhere, always be aware of your surroundings. If something does spook you, you'll just run faster. :)
February 14, 201312 yr Lots of good info in this thread, dedicated to BP, over $50 million in projects coming to this area in the next few years. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,1684.910.html
February 15, 201312 yr I live near Battery Park on West Clinton. It's a great neighborhood for running because you've got the W. 65th Street connection to Edgewater Park and (in the other direction) Whiskey Island. And there's a new connection coming (this spring?) to W. 76th Street. :)
