PigBoy? TCjoe?  (anyone else?)

Good question.  I'd better figure it out by Friday, after which the cost of registration goes up.

I'm new to this world of conferences and such, and at the moment I'm not sure what to take away from something like the AAG meeting, but then it's probably a good idea to go, especially when it's so close.

I'll have to check back in later.

With it being within earshot of Madison, I would recomend attending just to see what it's all about.

I attended my first AAG back in 2000 (I was a junior at OSU) when it was held in Pittsburgh.

The most notable thing I came away with was that I could do what these other academics were doing (speaking on geographic topics [to keep it vague]).

Plus, just the things you can learn from listening to other people speak.  Outside of panel discussions, I seldom heard anyone questioning other people's presentations at any of the sessions I attended.

That would be very interesting to attend.  But unfortunately the dates conflict with my academic schedule :(  March 7 through March 11 (the dates of the AAG conference) is the week before Spring Break, thus I will be having exams in 4 of my 5 classes.  Otherwise, I would probably check it out!

All right, I'm in.  Now to select the times to skip out on the conference and see the sights.

Make sure to wake up extra early on Friday morning to hear me compare Memphis and Jackson, Ms (I go on at 8:20 AM)

I couldn't find you in that online program they've got.  Which session is your thing part of?

By the way, several months ago there was that thread about a potential Chicago meet in which you mentioned the AAG meeting.  I think I'll give that a bump and see if anyone wants to come meet the geographers.  If you know your availability for that sort of thing, maybe you can post it there so that things can be worked out if anyone's interested.  I have to figure out when to leave Chicago and continue on to Ohio for spring break, and a forum meet would certainly be a factor in that.

Type in Gulyas (not Magyar) on the online program and you should find me.

Ah... I'll bet I mistyped your name (based on memory from the last time I looked at your web site), but then I searched for all the LSU people and still didn't see you.  Doesn't matter, I guess; I see you now that you've given me the right spelling.  Doesn't look like there's anything else on Friday morning that would keep me from going to yours, so I'll make sure to go! :-)
