Hey everyone! In a week, I'll be moving to Louisville from Cincinnati for school. I'll be attending the University of Louisville and getting my Master of Urban Planning degree.

As part of my move, I want to learn just as much about that city as I do about Cincy. Is there an 'urbankentucky' or other resources similar to this regarding news and development in Louisville and the rest of the Bluegrass State?

Any help is greatly appreciated!  :-D

Unfortunate... perhaps as I learn more myself, I can take up the mantle. That can be a full time job, though!

You should talk to the mods about expanding urbanohio.com beyond Ohio's borders.  There are some Louisville threads in the Non-Ohio Projects & Construction section already.  Start by bumping those threads and spread the word about the site after you get settled in Louisville.  Actually, it looks like some of them (like the Yum! Center) could use some completion photos.  If there is enough thread activity, they might consider creating a "Kentucky" or "bordering states" section that covers developments in nearby cities, rather than just lumping everything into "Non-Ohio".

EDIT: Here are the only Louisville threads I'm aware of:

Rob, my only visits there have been business, downtown and the Hurstborne Area.

I think 4th Street live is the place to go downtown.

The Bardstown Rd area is called the highlands and it has a bunch of restaurants and bars, not

very far from UL.

I'll actually be living in The Highlands/Germantown.

Also, I'd disagree with your assessment of 4th St Live. It reminds me of Newport on the Levee - too kitschy. Whisky Row/Main St and Market St downtown are much more my style. And Bardstown Rd is top notch - reminds me a bit of a combination of Northside and Clifton.

You know more about this that I do.
