Colosseo

Anyone else see the train tracks literally next to the garage and wish this was a rail stop? Literally direct access to the hospital from downtown. You can even have stops on OSU's campus and Grandview.

Thats what’s sad about having no rail here. The lines are all perfectly set up in the best areas. This line also goes right behind Lenox. The train next to 71 perfectly splits and goes by the airport and the other section goes downtown.

Oh, they can definitely use those tracks if they wanted to.  Ask Austin...

...and CSX and Norfolk Southern. But yeah, basically all the freight rail lines going in and out of the center of the city would make for an incredible rail transit system:

That was the basis for a COTA light rail ballot initiative that voters rejected in the 1990s. It included a line to Westerville along the proposed Green Line.

It would've been fully operational by now....😢

Just an FYI, Nashville's WeGo Star commuter rail uses an active CSX line.  Columbus can do it.

This is perfect for a rail transit map, only thing needed is a circular loop to follow 270 with stops at the Airport, Easton, Worthington, Bridge Park/Dublin, Hilliard, Grovecity, Obetz, Reynoldsburg.

This is why I am so mad at how awful the downtown addition is, it’s not like they don’t have the money to do whatever they want.

^What's that thing going to hold, like 12 administrators' offices?

Design Group and HKS are architects on the addition, which will create a 500,000-square-foot H-shaped office complex at 3430 OhioHealth Parkway. The original structure will undergo renovations.

Gilbane Building Co. will be lead contractor.

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2026 and take three years.

Wow, didn't expect them to expand even more so quickly. It almost looks like a copy of the Nationwide buildings in Grandview Yard. I'm assuming these new buildings will go on the surface lots to the south of their existing buildings?

With it saying an H shape, that makes the most sense. I really wish the kohls redevelopment area would go bigger than what they threw out a few years ago.

Side note... The construction fences for the demo are up and they started to cut in to the building to separate what's being town down and staying.

New Building Planned on OhioHealth Campus

OhioHealth announced this week a plan to build a new five-story building and attached parking garage at its David P. Blom administrative campus. The new building will sit just south of the two existing buildings on the campus, which is located south of North Broadway, near the Olentangy River.

OhioHealth’s Riverside Methodist Hospital, where a $600 million expansion is currently underway, is located due west of the administrative campus, on the other side of State Route 315.

The new building will hold an outpatient cancer center. All of the services currently offered at the Bing Cancer Center on the Riverside campus will move to the new building when it is complete, and Columbus Oncology and Hematology will also lease about 30,000 square feet of space in the facility.
