September 23, 201311 yr I think this is like Adopt-a-Park? These civic groups aren't peculiarly American, they were common in Europe, too, especially Germany. When the commies came into Eastern Europe after WWII, they shut 'em down or took 'em over because they wanted to control everything. And, hey, if they can get together to cut the grass - they might be able to take over the country. I would imagine the biggest problem in Detroit would be the US shadow government - the insurance industry.
September 23, 201311 yr My neighbors and I take turns mowing the foreclosed house on our street. The City seemed content with letting the weeds get above waist high, so we took it upon ourselves.
