I'm looking for a coworking space in CLE for my startup, and there don't seem to be many options compared with other cities. The only options I'm aware of are LaunchHouse in Shaker, CUBE in Cedar-Fairmount, and The Open Office in Coventry.

LaunchHouse is a bit more of an incubator/accelerator than strictly co-op office space, and The Open Office has limited access hours (no Sundays is a big downside). So far, CUBE looks the most promising and has 24/7 access, but I'm wondering if there are any other options? It seems like Ohio City or Gordon Square would be perfect for this type of space, but I can't seem to find anything except references old references and a broken website for a space in the OC Firehouse above Rising Star Coffee.

^You might try reaching out to Playhouse Square.  As a large, mission-oriented landlord, they may have some options that work for you or some other leads.

Yeah, unfortunately, the cleveland co-working space is pretty sparse as far as I know.

There was the cowork cleveland (correct name?) that you referenced above which closed in '12. IMHO, they were a little too pricey.

There's also an informal one organized by daniel dudley - http://www.lakework.co/ - although that's been on hiatus since July - but read that page, there appears to be a couple other leads there and he'd know more information.

A recent Colliers report on coworking and flexible workspace still paints a picture of coworking concentrating on the largest of U.S. markets. There is more than 27M SF of flexible workspace in 19 leading U.S. markets, and almost 47% of that is in Manhattan alone. Another 12.7M SF of flex office space is in the top 10 office markets Colliers tracked, while 4M SF were in nine leading secondary markets like Austin and Raleigh-Durham.

^ yeah, wework is taking over manhattan. they are gobbling up properties -- ie., they routed out the venerable lord and taylor dept store and took over the building.

i would not be surprised to see them move into cle and more cities very soon.

a co-work start up is a very good business to get into in and of itself these days.

My company office is in a WeWork  in West Hollywood. They definitely cater to a younger clientele at WeWork —hence the blasting club music in the bathroom.

Its the reason we are moving to a more “mature” co working spot soon. I don’t have to go to the office every day, so either spot works for me.

^ J Roc is putting another Limelight coworking space in their Electric Gardens building proposed for Tremont. At 8000 square feet it'll be a little larger than the one in Ohio City which is just under 5000.

Just looked at limelight's webpage. Place looks cool. But they have to be smarter about their pricing.  $20/day, no commitment. OR 8 days/month for $175 and you must commit for 3 months.

I don't think there are any Wework locations in CLE. The company just postponed its IPO...

"WITH ITS stylish shared workspaces and chic occupants, lubricated by fruit-infused water and nitro coffee on tap, WeWork, a firm that rents out temporary offices, had seemed to be riding the wave of a new trend in managing desk-jockey life. But the nine-year-old private company has suffered a setback, announcing on September 16th that it would postpone an initial public offering (IPO) that had been expected to raise $3bn-4bn. Investors, it seems, cannot decide what the firm is worth.

They have four main worries. The first, and most glaring, is WeWork’s lack of profits. The firm argues that this is explained by the huge investments needed to secure economies of scale. It says that mature locations are profitable—revenues doubled during the first half of 2019 over the same period in 2018, to $1.5bn. But its net losses also rose, if more modestly, to $905m. A second concern is how the company would fare in a recession. It has taken on $47bn in lease payments but has only $4bn in committed future revenues from customers. A third bugbear is corporate governance. WeWork will issue multiple classes of shares that give its flamboyant founder, Adam Neumann, control with a minority stake....."

^ the ceo accused of using drugs on the job?  yep that sounds like a co-working company lol.
