Posted February 8, 200619 yr Bond Hill is one of the 52 neighborhoods that make up Cinicinnati located on the north central side of the city accessible via I-75. It is home to the Historic Cincinnati Gardens and a new residential develop called "The Villages of Daybreak". New Citirama subdivision called, "The Villages of Daybeak"
February 8, 200619 yr Well...eh...it's "appropriate" for Bond Hill, I suppose. Though Donald Trump would have a heart attack... "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
February 8, 200619 yr what exactly is Donald Trump's tie to Bond Hill? I have heard he got his start there, but I really don't know anything else.
February 8, 200619 yr He owned Huntington Meadows apartment complex (then known as Swifton Village), which was his first dabble (is that a word?!?) into real estate. "You don't just walk into a bar and mix it up by calling a girl fat" - buildingcincinnati speaking about new forumers
February 8, 200619 yr Isn't this the neighborhood that the kids keeping shooting each other in? :shoot:
February 8, 200619 yr I like the last one the best, the detailing with the brick and dental molding at the soffit give it some character.
February 9, 200619 yr Here's the Villages of Daybreak project thread. It starts with Huntington Meadows demolition and gives some history of the site: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3417.0
February 9, 200619 yr I think those houses look nice and are very appropriate for the city. No front garages, porches, set closer to the street than average suburban development, brick facade, sidewalks. When they sell them all it should be an attractive neighborhood, though it would be nice to see a little more variety in the models.
February 14, 200619 yr I've seen it in person, I think there is more variety...with some that are better looking. I wouldn't mind living in that last model that was posted. I think it has a lot of character compared to most new subdivisions in that range being built in suburbs. It's not a place that you would expect a nice new development but hopefully it's really successful even though it's in Bond Hill. My friend Anthony and I were driving down through there the first time they put the sign up proclaiming the name "Day Break" and my friend Anthony goes "Yeah as in Day break in yo house and steal your sh*t". It's not in the worst part of Bond Hill though.
March 11, 200619 yr I drove through the subdivision today. What's built so far looks great. There is a wider variety of houses than just the models shown here, although not all of them are equally attractive. There are also a few townhouses along Seymour. What an improvement over an apartment complex. Cincinnati needs to improve its homeownership rate, and this can't hurt. Though building new houses doesn't guarantee an increase in the homeownership rate if it only shifts homeowners from existing properties. But fresh housing stock is crucial. Does anyone know where CitiRama will be this year? Are they having one this year?
March 11, 200619 yr Does anyone know where CitiRama will be this year? Are they having one this year? I don't think it's been announced yet. At least, I haven't heard.
