Posted October 18, 201311 yr Hey guys, continuing with my series of Chicago pictures from my August 2013 trip to the Windy City… here is part one of my fourth day, which includes a tour of Wrigley Field, Wrigleyville, and the baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and the visiting Cincinnati Reds. The first part focuses on the tour of Wrigley Field and surrounding area... Took the Red Line from downtown to Addison station, which is literally on Wrigley Field's back door. Wrigley Field's northeast corner The famous Wrigley Field sign... Cubby Bear bar, across the street... Sports souvenir shops The official Cubs store, across the street Statue of Ernie Banks Cubs Logo Ron Santo statue The famous rooftop seats The rear of Wrigley Field... Harry Caray statue... More of the rooftop seats, on Waveland Avenue The rest of the rooftop seats and a Chicago Fire Hall to the left (the fire truck was just backing in) John Hancock and Willis Tower poking out... October 18, 201311 yr Nice set of pics! One of the great urban neighborhoods of the US...how is that suburban McDonalds and Taco Bell still around there on such prime land??? I have a Mexican immigrant friend that grew up a block from there in the 70's and 80's when the area was crappy...his Mom still kicks herself for selling that 3 flat in the early 80's and moving to Old Irving to get the kids out of the ghetto. Probably a million dollar or more building now.

The current McDonald's won't be there much longer, it will be torn down to make way for a new Sheraton Hotel to built across the street from Wrigley Field... however the development is likely to include a new McDonald's.

November 2, 201311 yr I missed this set when you originally posted it. So let me add my "nice pics" comment as well. Nice set of pics!
