Posted November 2, 201311 yr Hey guys, continuing with my series of Chicago pictures from my August 2013 trip to the Windy City… here is part one of my fourth day, which includes a tour of Wrigley Field, Wrigleyville, and the baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and the visiting Cincinnati Reds. This is the second part of Day 4, which includes a tour of Wrigleyville, part of Lake View neighborhood and the ball game between the visiting Cincinnati Reds and the Cubs. Buildings along Addison Street in Wrigleyville, which is actually part of the formally named Lake View neighbourhood in Chicago's north side Most of these style of buildings are what you typically see in Chicago's older commercialized areas Corner of Addison and Broadway Looking east on Addison, we find some high-rises towards Lake Michigan... Until I came to Chicago, never heard of Jewel Osco, I guess that's an equivalent to Detroit's Meijer or Buffalo's Tops. Wilde's Bar and Restaurant, where I ate lunch as recommended by my bicycle tour guide... Views from my seat outside... Outside the restaurant... Grilled Chicken club sandwich on a pretzel bun wild rice, delicious! St. Peter's Episcopal Church Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School Corner of Clark and Belmont… Back to Wrigley Field! Main concourse... My seat, couldn't ask for anything better, IMHO... Cubs getting warmed up... as are the Reds... Start of the game... The Reds' Todd Frazier had a heck of a game, got a homerun in his first at-bat... There were a good number of Reds fans who made the trek up from Cincinnati... Lot of Red scattered in the crowd of Blue... Frazier completes the trek, making it 1-0 Reds... The incredible scoreboard... The Cubs' turn at bat... An authentic Wrigley Field beer and hot dog, I had to get a picture of this! One of the few major league ballparks that has a bullpen on the field... Bronson Arroyo, pitcher for the Reds, pitched a gem and Cincinnati's defines was top notch today... Reds scoring again, making it 5-0. The Cubbies today just couldn't muster up any offense, only had 2 hits in the game... Reds win! Game score wasn't what I would've liked it to be, but the experience at this ball park was second-to-none. Outside the park after the game... Red Line at Addison Station... Lineups for the Red Line after Cubs game are usually very long... Hope you enjoyed! Coming soon… Gold Coast, Hyde Park, Kenwood, University of Chicago, John Hancock Center...

November 4, 201311 yr Ah, making me miss summer. Another great tour! The area below had a nasty fire last weekend. Fortunately the 3-story terracotta building to the left survived. It's neighbor (not pictured) was totally destroyed and knocked out 4 businesses. The only thing that survived the intense flames was the Chicago Bears flag hanging on the front of the building.
