LAKEWOOD, Ohio – The owner of the former Hilliard Square Theater is negotiating with the city to demolish the 86-year-old theater, after 25 years of vacancy and Superstorm Sandy took their toll.

The city in late September declared the theater on Hilliard Road, near Madison Avenue, a public nuisance and issued a notice of intent to repair or demolish the building unless the owner took action.

The city's building and fire departments issued notices for dozens of needed corrections for electrical, plumbing, plaster, and debris problems. (See documents below.) The inspection also included vacant storefronts and eight apartment units that are part of the same building.

I cannot believe that guy spent 275K on that building. Holy cow! It's a shame they're tearing down the street fronting sections too, those are nice storefronts.

And once again, how did he fail to work out some kind of parking lot sharing with the school? He seemed to have good heart and just a bad mind for business.
