Posted February 9, 200619 yr Yeah, so i was in detroit for SBXL. I arrived downtown on Saturday at about 6:30 p.m. I didn't get home until 9:30 a.m. sunday morning. I got drunk, took very few pictures (b/c i was drunk), saw DT, New-Tony and Michi in there somewhere, ate some hot dogs, got drunk, and i think that's where these pictures pick up at According to my camera timestamp, this was at 2:50 AM at the Detroit Brewing Co. Then there's a few hour gap in time where i went into the casino (and yes DT, NT and Michi i finally got in) Next thing you know, i'm eating breakfast at the au bon pain downtown (7:16 AM) Then it seems like a good idea to keep drinking, (8:16 am) i couldn't even tell what building we are hanging out in front of, somewhere behind the millinder (those are two of my buds) so with our beers ready, we head over to the RenCen to see if ESPN is filming anything at 8:46 in the morning, sure enough its The Sports Reporters john saunders! (or whatever his name is) michael wilbon and finally, my buddy tony and jon saunders (who for some odd reason wears a toronto raptors jacket, asked where he got it, he responded "a friend gave it to me", i'm also sure by know we smelt like some rank booze) that's all i know, the camera is the best source of pieceing together the night.

February 12, 200619 yr Pope, you were in my hood and didn't blow me up? ;) geez... I TRIED to make it downtown Saturday night with some friends. We all met up at Fairlane Towne Center in Dearborn to take the shuttle around 7. It was already snowing, and we waited in line for over an hour and never did get on a bus. Probably would have had antoher 45 minute wait. The girls were getting cold and whiney, so we decided to just forget it. My friend wanted to drive downtown, but I talked him out of it saying all the roads were closed and there probably wouldn't be much parking and what parking there was would be $30. Needless to say I found out the next day that there was plenty of parking for those willing to take the infamous People Mover. We stayed in Dearborn for dinner and drinks at a small italian restaurant in downtown West Dearborn called Ciao, where we saw future hall of famer, former Minnesota Viking and Middletown Middie great Chris Carter. It appears he was there with a couple of other Midde greats. Got his autograph, so it wasn't a complete loss. I was absoulately amazed at the interest surburanites had in downtown Detroit. It was refreshing. Detroit Brewing Company=Detroit Beer Company near the opera house? Good times; great beer.
February 12, 200619 yr ^oh yeah, whoops beer company, not brewing. The zoo shuttle stop was only about a 20 minute wait.....I guess the 10 buck parking scared away people (i walked to it)

The zoo shuttle stop was only about a 20 minute wait.....I guess the 10 buck parking scared away people (i walked to it) The zoo shuttle I was told was shut down. Oh well. Detroit Beer Co. was one of the places I had planned on checking out. That and/or The Town Pump.
